What's this? Wild Paldean Pokemon?

LOCATION: Gilterrace Town - Churahana Flower Shop
[Out at the front of the store Manzana can be spotted sweeping stray leaves. All the while he doesn't notice there's a tiny little helper walking around the vicinity. Said little helper--a Gimmighoul in its roaming form eventually stopped, and stared at a Coinpur that was napping right at the steps of the flower shop's door.

It’s not until Manzana moves away from sweeping to rearrange one of the floral decorations that he catches Gimmighoul from the corner of his eyes. Halting his work he turned to look at Gimmighoul. Taking note of how it was tugging at Coinpurs’ coin a deep frown formed on Manzana’s lips.]

Gimmighoul don't you dare touch that coin! It isn't for you! [There’s a pause.] ...wait a second, a Gimmighoul? Here...?

[There’s a startled sound Gimmighoul lets out before running leaving a stunned Manzana.]

...wait! Gimmighoul, come back!

Location: Route 1
[Manzana can be seen with a group of Smolivs in his arms. He’s holding them tight as they’re letting out terrified screams. The problem wasn’t the fact he was carrying them as he ran–the problem was what was behind them: a very, angry Ulternian Dunsparce.

If anyone were to come across him, while Manzana won’t stop in his tracks he will call out to them.]

Run! It’s Dunsparce! Ay, I didn’t–ah!! Run!!! They’re dangerous!

[He’s yelling out in rapid succession. It seemed he was not only concerned for the shivering Pokemon he held but also the safety of anyone else in Dunsparce’s line of sight.]

Wow, I've never seen one like that before -- oh, right! Flamesplash!

[Alice pulls a ball from her belt and lets out a... okay, that looks like it’s probably a Sandslash, except that its spines are made of fire. The weird Pokémon stands between Manzana and the Dunsparce and charges at the latter.]

What happened to make it so mad?

[Well, now. That's certainly a sight. The Seviper watched as a human yelling something he doesn't understand and an angry... Dunspace? Well. In any case, something should be done. He'll catch up to the angry Dunsparce and begin talking to it, forgoing any introductions.]

Apologies for the intrusion, but may I ask what happened?

‘Course it’s gonna run. You caught it in the act.

[That’s just thief instincts, baby! Anyway, Mayday had only been passing by but she was close enough to see and hear the interaction. She stands in front of the flower shop, watching the little ghost sprint away with a vague curiosity.]

…Never seen anything like that back home.

H-huh!?

[Manzana gave pause as he held the shivering Smolivs closer to himself. Almost as if to shield them from any flames from the odd, fiery looking Sandslash. This man's face seemed pale as if spooked by the strange looking Dunsparce.

It's letting out a loud hiss in response to the new opponent.]

I am not sure--I think we may have accidentally came too close to it's nest...oh this isn't good. There may be more nearby!

[He's giving a worried look over to Alice. There's a silent plea in his eyes, a plea that was trying to get her to reconsider battling with Dunsparce.]

Ah-! No, no Serviper!!

[Manzana, despite the possibility of the Serviper being a wild and most likely not a friendly Pokemon couldn't help but stop in his tracks. He's struggling to juggle the tearful Smolivs in his arms trying to grab a Pokeball, but hesitated. Were any of his Pokemon strong enough against that Dunsparce?

Dunsparce on the other hand may have stopped but gave a Leer in Kebi's direction. The hiss he gave off was loud.]

Dooon't interrupt me! Get out of MY way!

If you really don't want to fight it, we could always try talking things over, but it doesn't look like it's going to listen to that. Don't worry! We happen to be pretty strong. Right, Flamesplash?

[The weird Sandslash nods and charges the Dunsparce with a Take Down.]

Just try and knock some sense into it, then we can see!

Oh...of course it would. They are rather timid.

[There's a frown on Manzana's face. He seemed to be considering Mayday's words before looking up to see just who he was speaking to. He chuckled and gave a smile.]

While I'm not used to seeing them running around like that I do recognize that Pokemon. They can be found in the Paldea Region, known as Gimmighoul. They're quite fond of collecting coins, but well...

[He's glancing down to Coinpur who remained peacefully sleeping at the doorsteps, oblivious to any coin stealing shenanigans.]

[If there was a way to talk sense into Dunsparce, Manzana would have preferred that. Still, Ulternian Dunsparce was anything but friendly. He swallowed as he set his gaze over to the battle seeing how the Dunsparce had taken a hit from Take Down. It slides back before quickly slithering forward.

With a loud hiss, Dunsparce too charges forward to Flamesplash ready to hit it with all of his Rage ~~and fury~~.]

Look out!

[Manzana couldn't help but call out. Despite Alice's assurance his worry still hung over him.]

[Flamesplash raises its arms, but takes the hit and skids back. It shakes its head and looks at Alice.]

Don't worry! Just like we always do. Right?

[Her voice sounded weird for a second there, but the Sandslash is unfazed and goes to shove the Dunsparce with Strength.]

It sure doesn't want to listen so far. Still, I wonder what makes the Dunsparce here so different?

[Manzana looked over to Alice. His worry still etched clearly on his face. It didn't take much for him to realize she too drifted here given her accent, and her Pokemon being different from what he's grown accustomed to.

Dunsparce in response used Defense Curl to bolster up its defense after taking another hit from Sandslash. It's letting out another hiss, as a light blue colored tongue flickered out from its mouth.]

Ulternian Dunsparce are territorial, and can be quick to anger.

[Manzana began to explain. He looked pained while taking note of how frightened the Smolivs were still.]

I was on my way to Professor Banyan's Research Lab...I should have been more careful.

It can't be all your fault. They can't just go chasing everyone all over the island. Those little Pokémon look terrified... Smoliv, right? I've been to a number of regions by now, but I've never seen one in person!

[Flamesplash tries to gesture and tell it to back off, before trying to slash at the Dunsparce with Metal Claw.]

Oh, but a lab, that's got to be fun! Do you work there? Are you studying the region?

[He couldn't argue against that. It's true that Dunsparce shouldn't threaten everything it came across and yet...

He glanced to Dunsparce who wasn't standing down. In fact he noticed just how the poisonous snake was preparing for another attack.]

...not everyone can be kind or friendly to others if all they've known is pain and hate.

[He takes a moment to inhale slowly to calm himself. That's right, the Smolivs were counting on him. Wild they may be, it didn't change the fact they had been taken from their homes. He gently moved to set the shivering grass Pokemon behind himself, before reaching to take out a Pokeball that more or less resembled a Premiere Ball with petals painted onto it.]

Go, mi Cielita!

[Out of the ball is a Cutiefly who's looking around in excitement.]

No, I do not work at the Research Lab. I'm just a Florist--but I understand how it feels to arrive here alone, with no way back home. Please, let us help you.

In that case, sure! There's no way I'd turn down help if we're all working together, after all.

[Flamesplash squeaks with a nod and uses Strength again.]

I'm Alice, and this is Flamesplash! She's sort of a unique Sandslash, but don't worry, she's very friendly.

I'm Manzana. Nice to meet you both, Alice, Flamesplash.

[There's a gentle smile on his lips. While running into an Ulternian Dunsparce was a page out of his many nightmare it still pained him seeing the battle break out between two Pokemon.

Dunsparce slide back taking another hit. Angry still, it'll aim Toxic directly towards Flamesplash. Manzana on the other hand immediately sent out an order to his Cutiefly.]

Cutiefly--Aromatherapy!

[Whether Flamesplash is hit by Toxic or not, Cutiefly's Aromatherapy would be able to heal it. That, and Manzana intended to soothe Dunsparce's anger.]

[Thankfully, Flamesplash has a good record for evasion, and despite the fire, apparently still registers as a Ground-type, so it doesn't take too much damage. Still, it looks grateful for the heal and waits again on Dunsparce's next move rather than aggravate it, asking something about why it chooses to terrorize other Pokémon on the path.]

It's good of you to protect those little guys, they look lost out here. I didn't think they were native to this area.

I believe I'm not currently in your way. I'm merely trying to understand why you're so angry.

[It's true. The Seviper is currently not blocking the way to the human. Speaking of, Kebi takes a quick glance at the human and OH CRAP, A POKEBALL.]

Er, if I may, we can talk this out privately? Away from the human?

[Mayday does not return the smile - she barely even makes the briefest eye contact with Manzana before glancing at the Coinpur.]

That right? Heh. Well, you gotta respect its initiative, at least. Are there a lot of pokemon from Paldea around here?

[Manzana looked relieved as he glanced over to his Cutiefly who buzzed around in excitement. She was clearly happy to help out a new friend!

Dunsparce bristled a bit, but stopped realizing Cutiefly's attack hadn't hurt. In fact it smelled a little nice. With his attention back to Flamesplash there's a hiss. It was angry seeing a stranger near it's home!!! What was up with that?! Unforgivable!]

These Pokemon--Smoliv are native to the Paldea region. I know this because that is where I came from.

Leave me alone!

[Dunsparce snapped. It seemed he was not in the best of moods let alone a talking one. He's raring up, and immediately launching a Rage attack towards Kebi.]

Oh no!

[Manzana's taking a step back while the Smolivs in his arms were crying out: "I'm scared!" "Eek, eek!" "Help!!"

They're all huddling up against Manzana as if trying to take shelter against him.]

I would be careful, Gimmighoul may be cute but there are tales of them forcing people to collect coins.

[The Coinpur currently rolled over as it gave a little stretch in its sleep. A very carefree little kitten Pokemon continued to snooze on. Manzana not minding briefly considered what he's seen before shaking his head.]

No. I've been here for quite a while but it's my first time in a long time since I've seen any Pokemon from Paldea...

[Oh boy, here we go. Kebi did get That Feeling Of Danger™ a moment ago, which is why he'd been trying to deescalate the situation. Unfortunately, this Dunsparce appears to be too aggressive and angry to listen. Kebi doesn't manage to avoid the attack in time, but he does manage to lessen the damage done, retaliating with a Screech.

He really wishes his teammates were with him right now.]

[Flamesplash gestures in confusion. Don't people wander or get lost in the wild all the time? It's not like it owns the route?]

Oh, fascinating! I've never been! Not yet, anyway. Does that mean you've been drifted here, too? My name is Alice. I'm from... well, a lot of places, but originally Cerulean, if you know where that is.

[Dunsparce moved back sending out a sharp look at Kebi. It immediately followed up with another Rage attack.

Manzana from both the distressed cries of the Smoliv to seeing Kebi battle bit his lower lip. This wasn't good, it was escalating further then he would have liked. Juggling the Smolivs in his arms once again, Manzana managed to reach for his Pokeball to call out his Marine Pattern Vivillon.]

Vivillon! Go help that Serviper!

[Immediately, his Vivillon will swoop, fluttering by Kebi's side.]

[Hisssssss! Dunsparce responded in anger. No! They stepped and trampled its nest! He wasn't about to forgive them!!!

Cutiefly looking between the two moves closer. It's buzzing here and there earning Manzana's attention.]

Cutiefly, Aromatherapy once again!

[The field is filled with a soothing scent. It helps calm the Smolivs that stood behind him all the while. He's glancing over to Flamesplash and Dunsparce in worry, before looking over to Alice.]

Ah...yes, I've drifted to Ultern. Not from my home region but from Kalos....

[He paused at the mention of "Cerulean". It takes him a moment to put a place, to the name.]

So you're a traveling trainer, I take it?

[Kebi does manage to dodge, albeit narrowly, this time, and will counterattack with a Dark Pulse on the Dunsparce. It's only then he notices the Vivillon beside him. Should have used Wrap, but oh well.]

I apologize for things going this far.
