What's this? Wild Paldean Pokemon?
LOCATION: Gilterrace Town - Churahana Flower Shop
[Out at the front of the store Manzana can be spotted sweeping stray leaves. All the while he doesn't notice there's a tiny little helper walking around the vicinity. Said little helper--a Gimmighoul in its roaming form eventually stopped, and stared at a Coinpur that was napping right at the steps of the flower shop's door.
It’s not until Manzana moves away from sweeping to rearrange one of the floral decorations that he catches Gimmighoul from the corner of his eyes. Halting his work he turned to look at Gimmighoul. Taking note of how it was tugging at Coinpurs’ coin a deep frown formed on Manzana’s lips.]
Gimmighoul don't you dare touch that coin! It isn't for you! [There’s a pause.] ...wait a second, a Gimmighoul? Here...?
[There’s a startled sound Gimmighoul lets out before running leaving a stunned Manzana.]
...wait! Gimmighoul, come back!
Location: Route 1
[Manzana can be seen with a group of Smolivs in his arms. He’s holding them tight as they’re letting out terrified screams. The problem wasn’t the fact he was carrying them as he ran–the problem was what was behind them: a very, angry Ulternian Dunsparce.
If anyone were to come across him, while Manzana won’t stop in his tracks he will call out to them.]
Run! It’s Dunsparce! Ay, I didn’t–ah!! Run!!! They’re dangerous!
[He’s yelling out in rapid succession. It seemed he was not only concerned for the shivering Pokemon he held but also the safety of anyone else in Dunsparce’s line of sight.]

He glanced to Dunsparce who wasn't standing down. In fact he noticed just how the poisonous snake was preparing for another attack.]
...not everyone can be kind or friendly to others if all they've known is pain and hate.
[He takes a moment to inhale slowly to calm himself. That's right, the Smolivs were counting on him. Wild they may be, it didn't change the fact they had been taken from their homes. He gently moved to set the shivering grass Pokemon behind himself, before reaching to take out a Pokeball that more or less resembled a Premiere Ball with petals painted onto it.]
Go, mi Cielita!
[Out of the ball is a Cutiefly who's looking around in excitement.]
No, I do not work at the Research Lab. I'm just a Florist--but I understand how it feels to arrive here alone, with no way back home. Please, let us help you.

[Flamesplash squeaks with a nod and uses Strength again.]
I'm Alice, and this is Flamesplash! She's sort of a unique Sandslash, but don't worry, she's very friendly.

[There's a gentle smile on his lips. While running into an Ulternian Dunsparce was a page out of his many nightmare it still pained him seeing the battle break out between two Pokemon.
Dunsparce slide back taking another hit. Angry still, it'll aim Toxic directly towards Flamesplash. Manzana on the other hand immediately sent out an order to his Cutiefly.]
Cutiefly--Aromatherapy!
[Whether Flamesplash is hit by Toxic or not, Cutiefly's Aromatherapy would be able to heal it. That, and Manzana intended to soothe Dunsparce's anger.]
no subject
It's good of you to protect those little guys, they look lost out here. I didn't think they were native to this area.
no subject
Dunsparce bristled a bit, but stopped realizing Cutiefly's attack hadn't hurt. In fact it smelled a little nice. With his attention back to Flamesplash there's a hiss. It was angry seeing a stranger near it's home!!! What was up with that?! Unforgivable!]
These Pokemon--Smoliv are native to the Paldea region. I know this because that is where I came from.
no subject
Oh, fascinating! I've never been! Not yet, anyway. Does that mean you've been drifted here, too? My name is Alice. I'm from... well, a lot of places, but originally Cerulean, if you know where that is.
no subject
Cutiefly looking between the two moves closer. It's buzzing here and there earning Manzana's attention.]
Cutiefly, Aromatherapy once again!
[The field is filled with a soothing scent. It helps calm the Smolivs that stood behind him all the while. He's glancing over to Flamesplash and Dunsparce in worry, before looking over to Alice.]
Ah...yes, I've drifted to Ultern. Not from my home region but from Kalos....
[He paused at the mention of "Cerulean". It takes him a moment to put a place, to the name.]
So you're a traveling trainer, I take it?
no subject
Well, I was for a while. I guess you could say I still technically am, since my friends and I go where they need us. You travel too?
no subject
Well, I-
[Manzana stopped taking note of Dunsparce's change.]
Look! I think it's starting to calm down. Perhaps it's best we try to take our leave now?
no subject
[She calls Flamesplash back into the ball and pulls out another one, letting out an Altaria that loafs on the ground and tilts its head.]
Altareon, can you fly us out of here? It won't be too far!
[Alice climbs up on the Altaria, which inclines its head to Manzana and his Cutiefly.]
no subject
Muchas gracias! Thank you so much for your help. I'm sure the little ones appreciate it too.
[With his hands freed up, Manzana will call back his Cutiefly and climb onto Altaria. He glanced over to Dunsparce who surprisingly began to turn away, slithering back into the tall grass. Thank goodness...]
no subject
It's no worry! Half of my team knows Fly -- it's very useful, if a little redundant, but I guess they just wanted it that way. Altareon here is probably the closest to what other people are used to, out of all of them. Aren't you, girl?
[It replies with a "vui!" chirp that sounds like it's trying its best to imitate something else. She nods.]
To the lab, right? You might need to point us in the right direction. I still tend to get a little turned around.
no subject
I haven't considered teaching any of my Pokemon how to use Fly. Maybe I should considering what had just happened...ahaha.
[Everything about Alice was peculiar, but he wasn't about to judge. After all a variety of people showed up in Ultern. Who was he to judge? Instead he was grateful to her and her Pokemon. With a smile he looked over to Alice.]
It's easy to spot the lab, thankfully. All you need to do is keep following this route's path in the direction of Turnbloom City and you can't miss it.

[He glanced down to the Smolivs who were now fascinated by staring at the route below them. What a view!]
It's true....both people and Pokemon alike have drifted here from what I have noticed.
no subject
I wonder if something happened there that started bringing them in, then? It wouldn't be the first time that spacetime phenomena happened outside of here, after all. Even not taking the Voices into account, methods other than the stream have been harnessed by humans, like the documented Ultra Beast incidents and -- oh, are we going too fast?
no subject
[He seemed thoughtful while looking at the Smolivs who glanced up curiously at Manzana. A soft smile formed before he shook his head.]
There is a lot about Ultern that I do not know. Whether it's the region itself that is pulling us all in or...
[A space time phenomena? He didn't know. Nor did he really know what Ultra Beasts were. He frowned while extending his hand to the Smolivs who waddled closer to him. He shook his head before looking over to Alice.]
No, it's fine. I just really haven't thought of how or why I ended up here. I'm just happy that I am. ...but I realize not everyone is the same.
no subject
Here, this should be it!
[She looks up at Manzana and the litter of Smoliv and offers a hand down.]
I suppose it is distressing to be taken someplace out of nowhere. It's not the first time for me, but things are a little complicated in my case. I'd just been settling back into the -- uh, where I was, after spending a year in Goldenrod visiting family. That's the simple version. But you're right, this is a very friendly place, as far as places one can be kidnapped to via mysterious spacetime phenomena go!
no subject
Right ahead of them was the familiar building of the Banyan's Research Lab. The overall building looked like a regular Ulternian home just by the sea, surrounded by well maintained bushes and plant life. It reminded Manzana of home, somewhat back in Paldea whenever he passed by on his way to Turnbloom.]
Ah...it sounds to me you have quite a tale, to tell. For more than a normal traveler would have.
[There's a smile before he reached for Alice's hand once more as he gave a gentle grip.]
I must sincerely thank you, Alice. For both you and your Pokemon. Your kindness truly...it has truly touched me.
no subject
It's no problem! That's what we do. Right, Altareon?
[Said Altaria has gone back to loafing on the ground and chirping happily.]
We've met a lot of nice people so far here. But you're right, things have been a little odd. And that's only part of why we're a little odd. [Alice taps her chin, thinking of how to explain this.] They call it "drifting" here, and we call it "going through the stream." It's how the Voices -- oh, have you heard of them? Nobody ever seems to know the legend around here. I guess they must not have reached this place yet.
no subject
I'm glad that people have been nice here to you. They have been nice to me as well.
[At Alice's explanation with terminology he was more familiar with he nodded. So she's drifted to other places before here, in a sense. Although at the mention of "Voices" it gave him pause. Frowning he shook his head.]
I've never heard of them, nor has anyone--at least people I've spoken to have yet to bring something like that up.
no subject
They must never have come before, then. How familiar people are tends to correlate with how many times, and how recently, they've come. I've accumulated loads of data, but maybe it would be helpful just to stick to the legend.
They say the Voices are a legion from beyond this world -- beyond any world we know. They're pulled through the stream -- rather, they drift just like we did, but they're not the same as you or I. They're a hivemind that is pulled into a host. Sometimes it's someone they chose, but there have been instances where they got someone else by accident or because a ritual altered the probability in the would-be host's favour -- oh, right! Just the basics. Sorry. But anyway, the Voices then possess that person and guide them on a journey. The host still retains who they are, though they are markedly changed from the experience and have a few telltale signs throughout and afterwards.
Regardless, while the Voices were originally seen as a bad omen, after an encounter with the god Helix -- I don't really know if you have the same ones here -- and the Streamer -- oh, that's an epithet of Arceus where I come from -- they slowly began to grow emotions and a purpose. There are cases -- ah, stories -- from all manner of place and time where the Voices and their hosts toppled tyrants, waged wars, led powerful beings to rise and later to fall. There are also stories where they didn't do much at all, just played with some weird Pokémon or built nonsensical structures or... learned how to drive? I don't know how accurate that one is.
Anyway! The throughline in most of them is that the Voices are a mysterious force -- no one knows what they are or where they came from, and maybe even they don't know. But what they say is that when the Voices choose you as a host -- and the reason some actively try to summon them -- two things will happen. Your home -- maybe your city, maybe your region, maybe the whole world -- will be saved from its troubles, no matter how big. And then, they'll make you Champion.
That's what they say, anyway.
no subject
Someone who had stood strong, along with her Pokemon and her friends.
Could someone like her have faced those type of harrowing trials? Maybe she was out there now as Champion, and... ah, right. He didn't want to seem like he wasn't listening to Alice. There's a sheepish smile on his face as he spoke.]
That sounds...a little overwhelming, admittedly but from what I understand, they're something beyond our comprehension. ...and I haven't heard of anyone refer to any Voices that are guiding them. So perhaps they haven't found their way to Ultern, or they can't interfere what is happening here.
[He stopped and glanced to the Smolivs who wigged in his arm.]
Ah, right. I should take them over to the Professor. While I would love to let them out in the wild this place isn't exactly Paldea.
no subject
[She recalls Altareon to the ball and heads toward the lab, knocking before just opening the door.]
That's likely the case. I don't know where they went from their last known appearance, but whatever is bringing people in must have its own criteria -- or it's sufficiently different from how some people will try to willingly summon them. It would seem to be a property of the region itself.
I'll throw in a Banyan tag after Alice's next tag! (ouo)b
[Manzana commented as he followed in behind Alice. The lab is a picture of nice and calm minus the trail of papers stern here and there. Manzana knelt down and began to pick up some of the papers. Taking a look he'll note they're all handwritten notes on different Pokemon. No doubt Professor Banyan's work.
He glanced around and began to call out.]
Ulsai? Professor Banyan are you in?
