Unfortunately, the very gross leaves didn't simply land on another pile of fallen leaves, as Trip hoped they would, but instead rather offensively hit a young Stantler in the face. It was very easy to miss, hiding under the leaves from predators, but its parent assumed this to be very, very intentional and tailed the departing boy.
